I would personally pass on buying this particular house. I am a former business owner who leased a building for my store. The owner of the building (formerly an auto service center) eventually put the building up for sale. Before the sale could be completed, the owner was required to pay for environmental cleanup of the site, due to oil in the soil. Two different government agencies became involved, set up a 'temporary' monitoring station/pump, which stayed in place for two years. Once the monitoring station was dismantled, the owner was still required to haul out dirt from the contaminated lot, and replace it with clean dirt. It cost him a fortune.
I'd advise you to steer well clear of this property, and search for another house. From house inspection we found out that there is some oil in soil. should we buy house or not ? pl help us.?
It depends on location, amount, and intended use.. If you want to garden in that spot or put in a farm pond, no. Otherwise, you might use that information to negotiate a significantly lower price. From house inspection we found out that there is some oil in soil. should we buy house or not ? pl help us.?
Light it on fire and see what happens, i wouldn't buy it
