Should I buy a1995 Nissan Altima GLE; 168,000 mi; oil leak and the Engine light is on...for $1,500.00????

My cousin's selling a 1995 Nissan Altima GLE with 168,000 miles for $1,500.00. She's had the car for 5 years and I'm quite sure she's maintained it well...i.e oil changes and such...

She says:

1. The car leaks oil, but isn't a problem with regular oil changes

AND

2.The check engine light is on, but nothing's wrong with the engine. They're just going to charge her $60 to turn it off.

I wanted to know if this is a good deal or not...what should I do? Are these good cars?Should I buy a1995 Nissan Altima GLE; 168,000 mi; oil leak and the Engine light is on...for $1,500.00????
that engine light has to be checked. it wont pass the emissions, the oil leak might have a crack block, if its not, it can probably be an easy fix.Should I buy a1995 Nissan Altima GLE; 168,000 mi; oil leak and the Engine light is on...for $1,500.00????
No,No
I think you could do better.
if you want it..get it

if the oil leak isnt a problem then ignore that

and to turn off most check engine lights..disconnect the batttery for a few minutes and reconnect it..generally fixes it
Don't buy it. If oil is leaking, it could be a costly repair. A new long block engine would be about $3,500.

If the engine light is on, something is wrong.
No! walk away from it, a better deal is waiting for you if you have a little patience. Buy a car like that if you know how to fix it, or your $1500 car may turn out to be an expensive car after all.

Is there anywhere I can buy the necessary tools to use for steam distillation (for extraction of essential oil

distillation ~glasswareIs there anywhere I can buy the necessary tools to use for steam distillation (for extraction of essential oil
yes, but they are expensive 250-higher. just google it. steam distilling is hard. you really need allot of flowers are whatever. also sometimes using water doesn't work being that particular plant needs a hotter temp to extract. just google it you'll find what your looking for.

its called a steam distiller, with a 2 liter bio flask. you need a pump and other glass flasks that come in a kit. and a burnerIs there anywhere I can buy the necessary tools to use for steam distillation (for extraction of essential oil
Steam distillation can be done at home, but be aware that you are going to get very little essential oil and a lot of hydrosol. Home stills are available for purchase, but if you are handy and so inclined...you can build your own. The idea is that plant material and water are boiled, the steam is captured and condensed and allowed to collect in another vessel. A large pot with a lid that fits well so that the steam is only allowed to escape through a hole that is fitted with tubing that travels through a cold water bath or ice. (This is where the steam condenses to fluid) This 'water' is collected in a vessel, mostly hydrosol with the essential oil floating on the top.

CH Imports, Stove Stills and Extractor in Quebec should be still offering home distillation equipmenet for sale.
It is not worth your time or effort.

It often takes anwhere from 200 poounds to 1 1/2 tons (3000 pounds) of the herbs to get 1 fluid ounce of pure essential oil.

When you factor in the leagal headaches, and the cost of the herbs, it is acually cheaper to buy the essential oils in the first place.

I have a 1992 nissan maxima and i have had a oil leak since i bought the car. What could be the problem?

it seems to get worse day by day.I really dont have the money to repair it if its really expensive.Does anybody have any adivise on what i should do? Thanks everyone for your feedback!!I have a 1992 nissan maxima and i have had a oil leak since i bought the car. What could be the problem?
The best thing to do is look all around the top and bottom of the engine to try and see where the leak is coming from. Auto parts stores sell a spray on cleaner that will clean the engine, thus making it easier to locate any leaks...you are going to have to raise the car to look underneathI have a 1992 nissan maxima and i have had a oil leak since i bought the car. What could be the problem?
Most likely cause of the problem is oil is leaking out of the valve covers. Those gaskets are only 18 years old... But with out looking at and under that car I cannot say for sure. How many miles on the car how long have you owned it? Advice fix the oil leak or trade in the car. But by all means never let it run out of oil.

Why are we buying oil (Saudi Arabia), who in turn are producing rouge terrorists such as Al Queda--

And why does not Saudi Arabia give some of its filthy riches it is squandering on wine, women, and song and use some of the money for the poor Arabs in Egypt ( who are in extreme poverty) so these people won't take their rage out on Western Countries like US??Why are we buying oil (Saudi Arabia), who in turn are producing rouge terrorists such as Al Queda--
Actually, the US doesn't buy that much oil from the Saudi's. But it makes no difference.

If I were to buy for example a significant amount from Canada, then those who normally buy from Canada have to go somewhere else. Eventually, that would lead to someone buying from Saudi that wouldn't otherwise.

Now, why don't they give money? Because then people would be empowered, and might try to overthrow the corrupt regimes that blight the middle east. It's a deliberate strategy - keep them poor and blame the west for all the problems.

Interesting points though, who knows where this current situation might lead?

I use tea tree oil for almost anything that have to do with hygiene due to its antibacterial properties. I combined it with eucalyptus oil for infusions and steaming. You have to mix it with water before you use it as mouth wash, gargle, or for skin treatments. I buy Tea Tree 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil from http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00181E…

Take care,Can you tell me ALL ABOUT TEA TREE OIL? how to use it? when? how often? where to buy? what is the best brand?!?
Here:

Tea tree oil or melaleuca oil is a clear to very pale golden color essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odor. It is taken from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia which is native to the northeast coast of New South Wales, Australia. The oil has beneficial medical properties (including antiseptic and antifungal, antibacterial action), and is also believed to have beneficial cosmetic properties. Tea tree oil is usually used diluted, as reactions are common with pure tea tree oil, and can cause irritation at lower percentages as well.

Tea tree oil should not be confused with tea oil, the sweet seasoning and cooking oil from pressed seeds of the tea plant (drinking tea) Camellia sinensis or the tea oil plant Camellia oleifera.

Tea tree oil has activity against staphylococcus aureus including MRSA, and when used at 10% concentration never been shown to cause resistance, but has been shown to at lower percentages.[1]

  • There is an unused oil tank at a house I just bought. What should I do?

I just put an offer down on a house and was told there is an unused oil tank underground. To make matters worse, there is an addition over it. If I love the house and If I go through and buy it I would be liable for any leaks, etc. Not to mention the resale when I go and sell it. Aside from backing out of the sale, what could I do legally?? And what could i have the seller do??There is an unused oil tank at a house I just bought. What should I do?
Either make the sellers fix it, or find out what it costs to have this fixed and make the sellers pay the cost (funds for the fix are held by the closing company in escrow and released to you after you make the repairs).

Also, get it inspected if you haven't already (by a really good inspector) and they should tell you what you need to do to get this remediated. Then, call around to some companies and see what getting this fixed would cost, it may not be much (then you can decide on whether to ask the seller to fix it before closing, or make the sellers pay the costs at closing or just do it yourself if its easy).

In my area the standard ';fix'; for this is to drain the tank and then fill it will concrete, so the fact thats its under an addition would not be important, but this can't always be done (depends on the condition of the tank), and the laws in your area may be different. There is an unused oil tank at a house I just bought. What should I do?
Oil tanks can be a huge liability, if it leaks you could be required to dig it up plus all the soil surrounding the tank, and disposed as toxic waste very expensive

Also most likely the next buyer may require testing before they buy if the test show oil in soil big problem, even if they would not buy it once the hazard had been disclosed you will have to disclose the hazard to all future buyers

what to do if you want the place have test, or get an estimate if possible to fill the tank, but you can only do that if the tank does not leak and the surrounding soil is OK
Contact a local oil servicing company and see what they recommend. You may check in or around the tank for old service records...if you can find out what company used to fill the tank and/or service it maybe they can help you.
