Should I buy a1995 Nissan Altima GLE; 168,000 mi; oil leak and the Engine light is on...for $1,500.00????
My cousin's selling a 1995 Nissan Altima GLE with 168,000 miles for $1,500.00. She's had the car for 5 years and I'm quite sure she's maintained it well...i.e oil changes and such...
She says:
1. The car leaks oil, but isn't a problem with regular oil changes
AND
2.The check engine light is on, but nothing's wrong with the engine. They're just going to charge her $60 to turn it off.
I wanted to know if this is a good deal or not...what should I do? Are these good cars?Should I buy a1995 Nissan Altima GLE; 168,000 mi; oil leak and the Engine light is on...for $1,500.00????
that engine light has to be checked. it wont pass the emissions, the oil leak might have a crack block, if its not, it can probably be an easy fix.Should I buy a1995 Nissan Altima GLE; 168,000 mi; oil leak and the Engine light is on...for $1,500.00????
No,No
I think you could do better.
if you want it..get it
if the oil leak isnt a problem then ignore that
and to turn off most check engine lights..disconnect the batttery for a few minutes and reconnect it..generally fixes it
Don't buy it. If oil is leaking, it could be a costly repair. A new long block engine would be about $3,500.
If the engine light is on, something is wrong.
No! walk away from it, a better deal is waiting for you if you have a little patience. Buy a car like that if you know how to fix it, or your $1500 car may turn out to be an expensive car after all.

Is there anywhere I can buy the necessary tools to use for steam distillation (for extraction of essential oil

distillation ~glasswareIs there anywhere I can buy the necessary tools to use for steam distillation (for extraction of essential oil
yes, but they are expensive 250-higher. just google it. steam distilling is hard. you really need allot of flowers are whatever. also sometimes using water doesn't work being that particular plant needs a hotter temp to extract. just google it you'll find what your looking for.
its called a steam distiller, with a 2 liter bio flask. you need a pump and other glass flasks that come in a kit. and a burnerIs there anywhere I can buy the necessary tools to use for steam distillation (for extraction of essential oil
Steam distillation can be done at home, but be aware that you are going to get very little essential oil and a lot of hydrosol. Home stills are available for purchase, but if you are handy and so inclined...you can build your own. The idea is that plant material and water are boiled, the steam is captured and condensed and allowed to collect in another vessel. A large pot with a lid that fits well so that the steam is only allowed to escape through a hole that is fitted with tubing that travels through a cold water bath or ice. (This is where the steam condenses to fluid) This 'water' is collected in a vessel, mostly hydrosol with the essential oil floating on the top.
CH Imports, Stove Stills and Extractor in Quebec should be still offering home distillation equipmenet for sale.
It is not worth your time or effort.
It often takes anwhere from 200 poounds to 1 1/2 tons (3000 pounds) of the herbs to get 1 fluid ounce of pure essential oil.
When you factor in the leagal headaches, and the cost of the herbs, it is acually cheaper to buy the essential oils in the first place.

I have a 1992 nissan maxima and i have had a oil leak since i bought the car. What could be the problem?
it seems to get worse day by day.I really dont have the money to repair it if its really expensive.Does anybody have any adivise on what i should do? Thanks everyone for your feedback!!I have a 1992 nissan maxima and i have had a oil leak since i bought the car. What could be the problem?
The best thing to do is look all around the top and bottom of the engine to try and see where the leak is coming from. Auto parts stores sell a spray on cleaner that will clean the engine, thus making it easier to locate any leaks...you are going to have to raise the car to look underneathI have a 1992 nissan maxima and i have had a oil leak since i bought the car. What could be the problem?
Most likely cause of the problem is oil is leaking out of the valve covers. Those gaskets are only 18 years old... But with out looking at and under that car I cannot say for sure. How many miles on the car how long have you owned it? Advice fix the oil leak or trade in the car. But by all means never let it run out of oil.

Why are we buying oil (Saudi Arabia), who in turn are producing rouge terrorists such as Al Queda--
And why does not Saudi Arabia give some of its filthy riches it is squandering on wine, women, and song and use some of the money for the poor Arabs in Egypt ( who are in extreme poverty) so these people won't take their rage out on Western Countries like US??Why are we buying oil (Saudi Arabia), who in turn are producing rouge terrorists such as Al Queda--
Actually, the US doesn't buy that much oil from the Saudi's. But it makes no difference.
If I were to buy for example a significant amount from Canada, then those who normally buy from Canada have to go somewhere else. Eventually, that would lead to someone buying from Saudi that wouldn't otherwise.
Now, why don't they give money? Because then people would be empowered, and might try to overthrow the corrupt regimes that blight the middle east. It's a deliberate strategy - keep them poor and blame the west for all the problems.
Interesting points though, who knows where this current situation might lead?

I use tea tree oil for almost anything that have to do with hygiene due to its antibacterial properties. I combined it with eucalyptus oil for infusions and steaming. You have to mix it with water before you use it as mouth wash, gargle, or for skin treatments. I buy Tea Tree 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil from http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00181E…
Take care,Can you tell me ALL ABOUT TEA TREE OIL? how to use it? when? how often? where to buy? what is the best brand?!?
Here:
Tea tree oil or melaleuca oil is a clear to very pale golden color essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odor. It is taken from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia which is native to the northeast coast of New South Wales, Australia. The oil has beneficial medical properties (including antiseptic and antifungal, antibacterial action), and is also believed to have beneficial cosmetic properties. Tea tree oil is usually used diluted, as reactions are common with pure tea tree oil, and can cause irritation at lower percentages as well.
Tea tree oil should not be confused with tea oil, the sweet seasoning and cooking oil from pressed seeds of the tea plant (drinking tea) Camellia sinensis or the tea oil plant Camellia oleifera.
Tea tree oil has activity against staphylococcus aureus including MRSA, and when used at 10% concentration never been shown to cause resistance, but has been shown to at lower percentages.[1]

There is an unused oil tank at a house I just bought. What should I do?
I just put an offer down on a house and was told there is an unused oil tank underground. To make matters worse, there is an addition over it. If I love the house and If I go through and buy it I would be liable for any leaks, etc. Not to mention the resale when I go and sell it. Aside from backing out of the sale, what could I do legally?? And what could i have the seller do??There is an unused oil tank at a house I just bought. What should I do?
Either make the sellers fix it, or find out what it costs to have this fixed and make the sellers pay the cost (funds for the fix are held by the closing company in escrow and released to you after you make the repairs).
Also, get it inspected if you haven't already (by a really good inspector) and they should tell you what you need to do to get this remediated. Then, call around to some companies and see what getting this fixed would cost, it may not be much (then you can decide on whether to ask the seller to fix it before closing, or make the sellers pay the costs at closing or just do it yourself if its easy).
In my area the standard ';fix'; for this is to drain the tank and then fill it will concrete, so the fact thats its under an addition would not be important, but this can't always be done (depends on the condition of the tank), and the laws in your area may be different. There is an unused oil tank at a house I just bought. What should I do?
Oil tanks can be a huge liability, if it leaks you could be required to dig it up plus all the soil surrounding the tank, and disposed as toxic waste very expensive
Also most likely the next buyer may require testing before they buy if the test show oil in soil big problem, even if they would not buy it once the hazard had been disclosed you will have to disclose the hazard to all future buyers
what to do if you want the place have test, or get an estimate if possible to fill the tank, but you can only do that if the tank does not leak and the surrounding soil is OK
Contact a local oil servicing company and see what they recommend. You may check in or around the tank for old service records...if you can find out what company used to fill the tank and/or service it maybe they can help you.

Oil & Gas price are rising - would buying Victoria Oil & Gas on the AIM stock market be wise ? at 22 pence?
Victoria Oil %26amp; gas ( London stock market ticker = VOG ) has agreements with russian gas %26amp; oil giant Gazprom, last year its share price was 77 pence a share, now it is 22 pence, it has a large number of oil wells it owns the liscences to 100 % , in Russia, its agreements with Gazprom are apparently unkown, could this be ripe for a take over in the coming few years, can i strike black gold ? if i invest in this company.Oil %26amp; Gas price are rising - would buying Victoria Oil %26amp; Gas on the AIM stock market be wise ? at 22 pence?
Right now UK is not Russia's 'best friend' (at least, not now we have tightened up on Money Laundering) ..
... so the price most likely reflects political concerns .. (any '100%' agreement with Gazprom can quickly turn into a '0%' deal ..)
PS, I would be EXTREAMLY concerned if I saw a report that said :-
';its agreements with Gazprom are apparently unkown';
.. I would take that to mean 'unlikley to be honoured' ...
Personally I would not touch it with a bargepole ....Oil %26amp; Gas price are rising - would buying Victoria Oil %26amp; Gas on the AIM stock market be wise ? at 22 pence?
It is high risk, the situation weth Russia is a problem that may get worse but if you accept you may lose all your money it looks like it could be on the way up again, Id only invest a small amount %26amp; set a stop loss of 19p...sell if it reaches that but if it rises bring the stop loss up.
Good luck !

I have just bought a 1965 lambretta li 150 what is the correct mixture of oil to prtrol ?
Also what is the best brand of 2 stroke oil to use ?I have just bought a 1965 lambretta li 150 what is the correct mixture of oil to prtrol ?
Back when the Lambretta was made (1965) the recommended mixture was 20 to 1 but as oils improved for two stroke mixtures and the oil companies came out with new synthetic oils the mixture ratios went to 40 to 1 and 50 to 1. look at the oil that you buy, it may tell you a suggested ratio. Certainly there is no need to use the old 20 to 1 ratio for the new oils.I have just bought a 1965 lambretta li 150 what is the correct mixture of oil to prtrol ?

I recently bought my used car from a private seller about 4 months ago and it recently had a bad oil leak and?
it blew a hole in the engine because i kept on driving it, basically... my concern now is because my insurance won't cover car repairs and to buy a new engine is too expensive, am I able to trade in my vehicle for another used one, even though i am still making payments on the auto loan I have? i got it financed through my bank.I recently bought my used car from a private seller about 4 months ago and it recently had a bad oil leak and?
You'll only get a scrapyard offer for a car that doesn't run. Go ahead %26amp; price a long block from you nearest parts store. It takes about a day to pull a engine. Anudder to swap all the covers. 3rd day ya drop it in. =^ )I recently bought my used car from a private seller about 4 months ago and it recently had a bad oil leak and?
Carrie have you check out a price for a used engine from a salvage yard? and go to your local auto zone or advanced auto parts and ask them the name of a PRIVATE mechanic that is reputable, that will change the engine. give that a try. and as far as your question, depends on how much you owe, yes there are dealerships that have specials occasionally that will do that. good luck
junk yard can give you up to $250 for a car. So what i would do is buy a used car engine for 1000 or less and install it. It will cost you around 500 to put it in (in an average auto shop)...
it would be a little more helpful to know the make of the vehicle...
The title has a lein on it because of the loan..... if oyu can get the bank to release the lein you could trade it but likely you will need to pay off that loan first.
Sorry to hear of your problem.
a car with a bad eng in not worth much as a trade in, a few hundred dollars maybe
sounds like you have learn your first lesson that is if you have a leak then you dont drive it...... you could buy a new one yes if you got the money and no one will want it if it has a blow motor if junk 150 bucks... and yes you still have to keep paying for it even if its not running or even if you get rid of it.... listen..... car maintenance is the life of your car and your way to and from.... if you have something wrong then get it fix then not later as you see now you dont have a car what might have cost pennies now cost hundredswrinkle eye cream

What engine oil do i need for the secondhand toyota supra 1995 i just bought?
The recommended oil for your car is grade 10W/30 classification SH/A2-96 or alternatively grade 10W/40 classification SH/A2-96What engine oil do i need for the secondhand toyota supra 1995 i just bought?
I would go with 10W-30....but make sure to get a professional opinion first. What engine oil do i need for the secondhand toyota supra 1995 i just bought?
Go with 10w30 Mobil 1. That engine beats up oil pretty hard and you need the good stuff.
If by chance the owners manual is there...use what it reccomends...if it says 5w30 then use that...if it says 10w-30 then use that. Even though some manufacturers reccomend 5w-30 I have never seen 10w-30 hurt an engine.
the 5w and the 10w is what the engine oil is when it is cold...it all breaks down to 30 weight once warm...hence the ?w-30.
5w-30 is better in cold climates as it is thinner at start up allowing the engine to turn over easier...if you live in a warm climate...the 10w-30 should be just fine.
mobil one 0w-40 .... trust me ... i have a 2004 dodge srt-4 with some rather major mods, and that's all i run in it and i am pushing 400whp ..... can't go wrong with that
Good Car, Nice Year
Turbo or naturally aspirated that motor was probably ragged on pretty hard being a Supra. I would switch to a synthetic oil. Mobil 1 10w-30 should be fine.

sunflower or vegetable oil.
xxJust bought a deep fat fryer to use on occasion..what type of oil is the healthiest to fry in please?
Oils need to get very hot for deep frying. So you want an oil with a high smoking point.
On the rare occasions I deep fry, I use peanut oil. I've use it with success with fish and chips and donuts
Here's an article from the American Heart association discussing the various oils and fats if you want more options and more info:

Use Olive oil as it is recognised as the healthiest of them all. It also has the best flavour. All oil is fattening though.
rapeseed is the best but more expensive.
palm oil but no oil is really healthy.
lard
sunflower or vegetable oil.
xxJust bought a deep fat fryer to use on occasion..what type of oil is the healthiest to fry in please?
Oils need to get very hot for deep frying. So you want an oil with a high smoking point.

How do you buy stocks in a industry like oil or banks?
I don't mean one or two companies I mean the whole industry?

Thanks,
DanHow do you buy stocks in a industry like oil or banks?
No, a initial investment would probably cost you 1k with subsequent payments of 100 or 200 maybe... If you only plan on spending 100 or 200 one time. Don't even expect to make much... A trade will cost you money, or if you go mutual funds it will be gone by MER costs. How do you buy stocks in a industry like oil or banks?
You can purchase an ETF. Please go on Yahoo Finance and start researching. Some of the oil ETF's are OIL, DIG, DUG (that's a short fund). Gas alone is UNG. You can go long the financials the same way. Some of the ETF's are underwritten by Ishares, Powershares, Wisdom Tree, Deutche Bank also has them. I think there are over 600 ETF and ETN funds. You will surely find what you want if you research online. Also, you need a brokerage account and these trade all day long, unlike Mutual funds, that you can only get out of, at the end of the trading day.
So, good luck! Make some money! Try Bloomberg, too. They have an ETF section.
Yes, invest in an ETF, much better than a mutual fund for alot of reasons, please educate yourself on this, it is worth your while and your dollar.

Also, as an investment advisor (Canadian) I would recommend this site to educate yourself even more.

Bought 1800sq.ft. home in central PA. How much $ would oil heat and central AC system w/ duct work cost me?
Home has old electric baseboard heat and uses window units for AC. It is a 1985 build cape cod with 1.5 stories. Needs new heating and cooling system. No access to natural gas. Curious as to what it will cost me and recommendations for who to contract the job to. Thanks!Bought 1800sq.ft. home in central PA. How much $ would oil heat and central AC system w/ duct work cost me?
Your talking a whole system including ductwork.
Furnace - $1,500.00
A/C ____-$2,500.00
Ductwork_-$3,000 -$4000.00
Estimate for rural Minnesota.
I would go LP gas if in area.Bought 1800sq.ft. home in central PA. How much $ would oil heat and central AC system w/ duct work cost me?
It all depends on what features you want on your system.
1. The first thing that I would do is contract a reputable American Standard dealer. This is the best equipment on the market today.
2. The next thing that you need to do is have that contractor come in and do a complete manual J load calculation on the entire space. Make sure they measure all windows and doors and take in to consideration the insulation values of attic, wall ,and floors.
3. Efficency is very important, especially with today's fuel costs. A few things that will help you get the most of your system. (1) Demand that the ductwork be COMPLETLY sealed, and check behind them. (2) Make sure that they use dampers on all supply lines. otherwise your system will never be properly balanced, and you could have hot and cold rooms. (3) With new systems one return is rarely enough. make sure there is enough return.
These are just a few things to remember when deciding on your system. If you do not install american standard equipment, the other things I mentioned are vital to proper system operation. If The contractor will not do these things, do not use them.
As far as price:
Duel Fuel w/complete duct work 5-9 thousand dollars
A/C w/ furnace and duct work: 4-7 thousand dollars
You can add Accu-clean + $1,000
You can add Variable speed + $1,500
Good luck with your purchase

Who thinks the oil companies are buying their own futures?
I made a statistical model which essentially proved human intervention over the time period of Cheney's meeting with the oil execs in 2002 and a few months prior to the election in 2006. Now that the election is over, the model is precisely back on track. My broker Assured me that Exxon/Mobil does in fact have enough money to rig the market. He said it might not even be illegal!! When they get stuck holding their own over-inflated contracts, it's OK. They just deliver the oil to themselves. It's the perfect scheme!!Who thinks the oil companies are buying their own futures?
The markets, especially institutional %26amp; futures are totally manipulated by large institutions. They can simply buy and sell mostly from each other. I was a licensed futures institutional trading asst some years ago. The auditors are clueless about futures. We bought %26amp; sold huge contracts %26amp; wired huge amounts of money out of the country. They have really cracked down on ID for little old ladies as well as flagging ';unusual'; deposits she might make)later on I was securities licensed too)-but the big boys continue unfettered. The scenario you described is called ';Hedging'; and is completely legal. The SEC may investigate now %26amp; then but it's too complicated for them. But the markets are manipulated daily. Remember the stock market crash of 1987? The second day, the markets went down sharply again but around 1 pm, large institutions cames in %26amp; bought S%26amp;P futures contracts and the market finished up. Also, I know about hedging techniques and much of the time they are not really hedges but using fuzzy accounting %26amp; double bookkeeping that the auditors don't understand. Also, when the auditors do ask questions, they quickly back off because they hate to admit they're clueless. The oil companies know exactly what they're doing. In the 80s, when people started complaining too much %26amp; they held prices while encouraging an addiction to oil. Right before prices rose this last time, there were the large SUV credits. Like anything in the US, people get used to larger vehicles and can't imagine going backwards. Guess this is all a sore point with me. I know how it works and don't see it changing. The little guys mostly lose in futures because it's controlled by the big guys.Who thinks the oil companies are buying their own futures?
What can be done to stop exxon mobile from manipulating the market. The thinking is that we are helpless. Wayne Report Abuse
Show your model.
Buy the stock, it more than offsets the price of fuel.
Oil companies are scum, not only are they ripping people off, forcing our involvement in Middle Eastern conflicts and they are destroying our planet in the process. By pressuring politicos to dismiss the facts about global warming and the effects it's having on our world already. The island of Tuvalu is disappearing, in 2005 Greenland had a peninsula turned into an island. Why do people turn there backs on this problem for their children to inherit, it's irresponsible and immoral. Why run an uncontrolled experiment on the only home we have?

Use for perfume oil bought in Egypt?
I bought a box of 4 different perfume oils (at a high price, but I got taken in by the patter!), and now they all smell much the same, which isn't particularly exciting! Anybody any ideas how I might use them, apart from in the bath?Use for perfume oil bought in Egypt?
It sounds like they are way past their 'use by date'.
Toilet cleaner?
Final rinse in your washing?
Keep the garbage bin smelling 'nice'!
Sprinkle on your front lawn to keep the cats and dogs off!
Use them as gifts for those 'difficult' people!
Sprinkle a few drops every now and again in your undie draw!Use for perfume oil bought in Egypt?
you can dump them.
put a tiny drop on all of your light bulbs and when your lights are on it will warm the oil giving your rooms instant air freshener, or use to scent artificial flowers, or if you have small radiator water bowls put a few drops in them to have the same effect as light bulbs
Use them in an insense burner.
put the oil on ur hair 4 the whole night.
There's this things you can buy, they're like a saucer and then its got a space to put a small candle under it, so it heats the oil up and it gives a nice smell. I can't remember what they're called now, but you might know what I'm on about..

Does the Texas Oil Cartel (aka RNC) think they can buy our votes with lower gasoline prices?
Of course they do! Does anyone really think it's just a coincidence that gas prices are dropping just before an election? They're saying it's because the summer driving season is over, but why this year and not last year too? Watch what happens to prices in December and January, regardless of who wins. They won't come down again until the 2008 elections.Does the Texas Oil Cartel (aka RNC) think they can buy our votes with lower gasoline prices?
Residents in the USA pay about one-half the going rate for gasoline as compared to the rest of the world. This is a result of long term petroleum prices negotiated with domestic suppliers as well as our major suppliers in Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia.
';Spot prices'; that we read about so often are just for a fractional amount of the world supply of oil and have very little influence on prices you pay at the pump.
Pump prices have gone up due to the weakness of the US Dollar as compared to other world currencies. When adjusted for inflation, US consumers aren't paying any more than they ever did - indeed, the adjusted cost of gasoline today is lower than it was in 1982.
Supposedly the demand for gasoline has gone down now due to the end of summer, and meanwhile home heating oil demand is low until we get more into winter.
Thus we get back to the basic economic law of supply and demand.Does the Texas Oil Cartel (aka RNC) think they can buy our votes with lower gasoline prices?
The RNC is going to try any tactic they can to try and keep control of the House and Senate. I believe thats why ABC came out with the movie....Path to 911.
More like they are telling us who has the real power and as long as we glutons for the gas pay for it the longer they will have the power.Pretty sad to think about knowing no one will actually do
anything about it.
Yep
Probably. I wouldn't be surprised.
What Texas Oil Cartel and where is it suppose to be.???
Okay, Mr.Oxford Man, blah blah blah blah. Your credentials are indeed impressive. You have been brainwashed well. But you will not convince the American public that our gas prices are anything other than what it IS- the arrogant greediness of those in power at the expense of the people.
Yes, of course, they try to throw us all kinds of table scraps to get our votes, or to try to make it look like they are human after all. It's hilarious.
hahaha.
do you feel compelled to vote republican since the prices went down?
please please tell me you are not that gullible.
both the republicans and democrats will do anything to get into or retain power,
when will the sheep learn that both parties are different sides to the same coin?
they are just in it for the power.
time to vote both out and put in place people who believe in the country,
not the business of politics
not the business of the country
not the business of business
they are there to govern. not to run a business.
3rd party all the way.
You friggin people are just never happy.
Gasoline prices always decline after Labor Day. This year prices started dipping before labor day to encourage more people to drive.
Plus don't give American voters that much credit. They are unlikely to notice small incremental decreases and equally unlikely to remember them 8 weeks before elections. A large decrease, 25 to 30 cents 14 to 10 days before the polls open is a different story.

Is anyone buying the conservation approach to throwing off the yoke of foreign oil?
Which do you think is better:
--forcing American car makers to raise mileage standards to, say, 40 mpg minimum
or
--drilling?
Considering our population is growing, we all want cars, and we're not being told to drive less, how is plan ';A'; going to reduce our consumption of oil, long term or short term?Is anyone buying the conservation approach to throwing off the yoke of foreign oil?
Both together would make more sense, but even both together is not a long term solution to foreign oil dependence. Higher fuel economy would have to work hand in hand with efforts to encourage people to drive less.
And I would disagree that we have the same amount of oil that Saudi Arabia has, USGS surveys do not reflect that. Drilling only as a long term solution is going to lead us to eventual disaster. Is anyone buying the conservation approach to throwing off the yoke of foreign oil?
I think it is just another ploy by the white house to make us think that they really plan to get away from our dependence on foreign oil. It is pretty obvious that Pres. Obama is not interested in doing what needs to be done in all reasonable areas to find new energy sources. For example, using billions of dollars to ';weatherize'; national buildings. How about putting those dollars into developing our own energy resources...both natural and nuclear. You might as well face it folks, the Obama administration is going to be nothing but a dog and pony show. Say what's right...convince the people...and do nothing.
I think we really need to take better advantage of Iraq and take their oil reserves. Then we'd make Pelosi and other hollywood libs happy not having to drill off our shores.
I do think there should be a law on no home having more than three cars parked in front. It really comes down to excess which Americans seem to know too well. Plus, my neighbor across the street would appear less like a piece of WT.
Conservatives want to drill (short term), and also look into alternative sources of energy (long term). Liberals can apparently only think about 1 thing at a time. Alternative energy is not going to be a nationwide solution for probably a decade, so why not drill to ease the problem now?
Drilling is the short-term answer, but the ultimate goal should be the development of technology that decreases the US' dependency on oil, because eventually, it will run out.
American car makers already know how to make cars with 40mpg but they have money invested in the oil companies and earn money from the oil companies
no reason not to drill or make 40mpg cars but their are always politics in the way of actual progression
Drilling. Most people can't afford a new car so having a 40mpg car on the market isn't going to help anyone who has to keep driving their old one. Having more of our own oil is beneficial to us all.
We must decrease our usage. We do not have ACCESSIBLE oil reserves equal to Saudi Arabia. That is simply ridiculous. If that were true, why do we produce only a tiny fraction of the world's oil supply?
Do I have to choose one or the other?
What I think is best is to allow the free market (as free as it is) to regulate whether we use oil, or nat-gas, or horse poop to power our personal vehicles.
the only way we beat the oil coountries and for that matter, the oil companies, is to find something else to burn....we need to get weaned off the oil
I think Democrats just want to go back to the horse because they're fun to ride.
I tried inflating my tires, but libs still complain about global warming. I give up. Time to drill.
40MPG cars and 6 dollar a gal gas should do the trick !

(looking to buy a home) Natural Gas vs Oil, please explain this to me?
The homes we are interested in are either Natural gas or oil.
What are the pros and cons in the two?
And if you can, explain this to me...
One home says ';heat: Forced Air;oil';
';hot water: electric';
Another home says ';heat: natural gas';
';hot water: gas';
Which is financially our best bet? Not only by monthly bills/payments, but maintance and up-keep as well.
Honestly, the heating source is kind of the tie breaker in the home we choose.
(I know, ';ask your realtor'; lol. I will, I'll discuss it more with her later. But quite honestly, I don't even want to bother wasting time looking at homes that are gonna cost us an arm and a leg in heat alone. So I'd like to know where we stand (financially) before we get our hopes up walking in a home for a showing.)(looking to buy a home) Natural Gas vs Oil, please explain this to me?
heating oil is over $4.00 per gallon and when they come to fill your tank - the filup cpuld be anywhere from 100-200 gallons, so you have to be able to pay up to $800 or more per tankful of hreating oil pretty quick and if your hot water is also heated with oil - you will get deliveries year-round and more than one each winter - gas - you get a monthly bill for the gas you've used - just like electric - gas heat can be expensive in cold areas - I have an electric start gas oven, now, so I hardly use any cooking gas anymore ( I microwave more meals than cook - hey, I'm single)- compared to when I had a stove with a pilot light that used gas even when I wasn;t cooking(looking to buy a home) Natural Gas vs Oil, please explain this to me?
With oil you'll have to have someone come fill the tanks every so often, but NG is through utility lines.
Honestly, it's a wash in my opinion. I think heating oil is more expensive than NG. You can get contracts on both to lock in prices too.
What are the pros and cons in the two?
And if you can, explain this to me...
One home says ';heat: Forced Air;oil';
';hot water: electric';
Another home says ';heat: natural gas';
';hot water: gas';
I just bought a new charcoal smoker grill. What is the best method to oil it up to keep it from rusting?
Unfortunately there isn't a way to totally ';rust-proof'; your Q, you can only retard the inevitable. Steel will rust even if you coat it with oil, the heat from the Q will burn the oil off and you're back to square one. My suggestion is to get a nice cover for your unit, spray the unit (all the joints) with a petroleum spray (WD40). After each use and after cooldown spray again and cover.I just bought a new charcoal smoker grill. What is the best method to oil it up to keep it from rusting?
I just use my flavoured olive oils to wipe over, this also gives my meat a lovely flavour, or just plain olive oil or rice bran oil is good too.

I bought some canvas yesterday. Is acrylic paint the same as oil?
I haven't bought the paint because I don麓t know what to use on canvas.I bought some canvas yesterday. Is acrylic paint the same as oil?
You may use both oil paint and acrylic paint on canvas, but they are VERY different mediums. Acrylic dries very quickly and tends to look flat. Oil has a very different look. It takes much longer to dry and can be manipulated more---blended on the canvas, work with glazes etc. Since you are just beginning, I recommend you look at examples of both oil and acrylic painting, and choose your medium based on the look you are going for. Even though both mediums can be manipulated to do different things, they tend to lend themselves to a certain look unless you know how to manipulate them. And don't forget to prime your canvas!I bought some canvas yesterday. Is acrylic paint the same as oil?
no, there very different, acrylic is cleaned up with water and is less vibrant while oilis cleaned with turpentine and is much more vibrant. But the canvases u bought are most likely acrylic primed which is good for both. They also now market artisan oils, which are water mixable. Meaning no turpentine is needed. Check out this link for some pro's and cons of both. Http://painting.about.com/cs/paintingkno鈥?/a>
now if you want my opinion I only like oils. I use some acrylics for different things but only oils CAN CAPTURE THE TRUE ESSENCE of what a scene is, whether it is a landscape, portrait etc. the lucious, thick feel of rubbing oil paint underneath your brush is irrsestable. Look in all textbooks u wish to. All the famous artists in history used oils, not one used acrylics. Not even jackson pollock used acrylics, just thined oil paint. That is my opinion.
u know something else? Why should people put the idea that a price means the better of two art forms. Would u want to get acrylics that are less vibrant than oils just cause it saves u about 2 green pieces of paper?? Although I say all this I do like old holland acrylics, only kind that fit my standards.
No, acrylic paint dries much faster than oil paints. It depends on if you want to work slowly or quickly.
No, oil is more runny.
Oil and acrylic are very different. Oil paint is oil solubale, while acrylic is water soluble. They can not be mixed together. But you can paint oil over dry acrylic paint but not the other way around. Oil dries longer but there are chemicals to make them dry faster, acrylic dries very fast compared to oil but you can add retarders. Oil paint has colors that are more natural looking and have a dipper tone than acrylics too. Oil paint is more stable than acrylic paint because acrylic dries a little darker when oil does not.
no that is why one is called oil and one is called acrylic. I have never liked oil paint for it takes a long time to dry sometimes days. Acrylic I love because it blends nicely, drys quickly and if you get it all over you and you will..it easily washes and cleans up. Acrylic is a great paint to start with anyway. How exciting your first painting? Wow I would love to experience that for the first time again.
No, acrylic and oils are not the same but either one can be used on a canvas. I started out with acrylics which gave me some good practice but have since moved on to painting with oils. Before I did though I checked out books from the local library to learn the basics of oil painting. My art can be checked out at hellosanantonio.com under artist name ''Guerro'' in the local artists section.
both paints can be used on canvas. I personally prefer acrylic, but that could just be because I don't really know what I'm doing with oil.
a lot of artists favor oil paints, but they do take a very very long time to dry…. Like months before they are considered completely dry. I think artists favor oils because they are so malleable and versatile, but keep in mind that they require more skill to be used properly.
pros of oil paints:
- very malleable and versatile
- some say they help to create a more life-like image (because they're versatile I suppose)
- there are probably other benefits that I don't know about because I don't use them
cons of oil paint:
- they take forever to dry
- they require a lot of technical skill to really maximize their potential
- they are significantly more expensive than acrylics
- they do not wash out of clothing - since they are oil-based and not water-based (acrylics are water based)
- you need turpentine or something like it in order to get oil paints off of your brushes, etc. turpentine STINKS and can give you a headache.
pros of acrylics:
- cheaper
- supposedly washable (they don’t *always* come out of clothing, but you have a chance of them washing out, at least… and they wash right off of skin)
- easier to work with at first (this one… im not sure that they are easier when you are a beginner, I just know that as a beginner you may be wasting the potential of oils if you don't know how to make them do what you want)
cons of acrylics:
- it is harder to make acrylics ';chunky'; looking. When you see a painting with big chunks and a lot of texture, you're probably looking at an oil painting (or a mixed media piece that uses actual cloth or objects to create the texture). If you try to layer too much with acrylics, chipping occurs. However, I only use acrylics and I *never* paint anything with less than like 5 layers, and I haven't really had a problem…. I just have had art teachers say ';that's going to crack, right there';… but it never does.
- acrylics are less malleable than oils.
all in all, as a beginner, I would advise going with acrylics. I could be partial to these though, because I only use acrylics. BUT, I only use acrylics right now because I just haven't really learned to use oils yet.
edit: you could also choose to go with oils, because after all, the sooner you start experimenting with oil paints, the faster you'll become proficient with them. I guess it all depends on how good you want to become and what you want to do with the specific painting you are working on.

I have an oil painting of a ship at sea which I bought in Germany 28 years ago. Where can I found its value?
The painting is signed, but not able to make it out. It is approx 1500mm x 1200mm and is in a wooden gilt edged frame.I have an oil painting of a ship at sea which I bought in Germany 28 years ago. Where can I found its value?
Can you give the picture of that oil painting. So maybe I can approximate the value.
To determine the value of a painting:
1. Know the painter
2. Age of the painting
3. Is it beautiful or not
4. Size of the paintingI have an oil painting of a ship at sea which I bought in Germany 28 years ago. Where can I found its value?
This column will discuss one of the questions most frequently asked by both experienced and neophyte antiquers: ';What is that thing worth?'; The question is easy, the answer is difficult. The first question to be asked by the appraiser is: ';Why do you want to know?'; No, this is not a sarcastic response, but a needed bit of information.
Are you going to keep the item for yourself and use it to decorate your home? Will you use it to fill some practical need (i.e.: a bookcase, a table, a chair) or is it going to be part of your collection of ________ (you fill in the blank). Is it a gift for someone else? Is it for resale? Is the estimate for insurance purposes? Is it part of an estate where the value is needed for estate taxes, or to help divide the estate equitably among several heirs? All of this information is important because value can never be an exact number.
Any qualified appraiser thinks in ranges: ';That painting is worth between $1,200 and $1,500.'; Remember in the antique field one cannot go to the latest wholesale catalog or ';Blue Book'; to find the exact item currently available at a specific price. What about price guides? Read the disclaimers in the preface in all of the guides, and remember that they are called ';guides.'; The prices are averages, estimates, or are based on auction sales. This leads us to where value is determined: that is on the auction block. For tax and estate purposes the IRS uses auction prices realized. Yes, I know that similar items may sell for different prices at different auctions, but on average, the prices tend to be within a specific range. One must also account for regional differences in pricing which exist, and we will dedicate a future column to that subject. Remember, one cannot use retail price, since dealers use different markups and have different expenses. Additionally, not all dealers are aware of the value of all of their inventory, and many items are priced based on cost (high or low) rather than on the item's market value.
If the item is for your home, the pricing question is a bit simpler: ';What would a new one cost?'; If you are not sure of the answer, check out a few new furniture stores. Then run, do not walk, to your nearest antique dealer or auction house - generally the prices are lower and the quality and construction much better. If one gets tired of an antique, it still has value in the secondary market. Have you ever tried to sell a three year old couch or a ten year old dining room set? If not, attend an auction and be prepared to be shocked; an upholstered chair for $1? Yes, really, and you probably can have the extra pillows included.
If the item is to add to your collection of Royal Doulton figural mugs, what is a fair price for that missing ';Falstaff'; you have been looking for since 1996?
I think you get the idea: easy question, difficult answer. You will feel much more comfortable making buying decisions as you acquire more information..This is the fun part, go and visit your local antique dealers, look, ask, examine, and then buy. Attend auctions and keep track of prices; soon you will feel more comfortable in your decision making process. This column will discuss buying and selling at auction in the near future. (The Hudson Valley Antiques web site will be adding information about prices realized at local auctions, so we can serve as a guide too.)
Insurance valuation is usually based on replacement value - what would it cost if one went out to buy a like item? This is an educated guess, based on auction value plus retail markup.
Estate value is based on the low estimate of auction value (and must be justified by actual prices realized) since any taxes are based on the appraised value. If item is sold, obviously the sale price is the value.

Thinking about buying a Cadillac with the Northstar engine. Has the oil leak problem been solved. What year?
What years are safe to buy? I know it's a VERY expensive repair but I heard Cadillac addressed the problem on newer models.Thinking about buying a Cadillac with the Northstar engine. Has the oil leak problem been solved. What year?
Oil leaks were only an issue the first couple of years. By the time they were on all cadillacs (96) they solved those issues. Oil consumption can still be an issue that seems to depend alot on how the car is used. Typical things I hear are around a quart between changes. Not what you would expect from an expensive car. For the most part I have not heard that it gets any worse with mileage and most of us that drive 'old' cars are used to checking fluids and adding as needed so I dont see it as a problem.
The Northstar is a high tech, high performance, aluminum engine. Like all aluminum engines cooling system maintenance is is critical. Like all high tech engines they have lots of parts which makes them expensive. Like all high performance engines they dont do well with lots of short trips at lower speeds, they need to get 'opened up' from time to time. The worst possible case its the 'little old lady' that just drove to church (10 miles away at 30mph) every sunday. Those engines sometimes have serious problems that can not be fixed without taking it apart. Now if she drove it to visit her sister in Pasadena and put it to the floor a few times to get on the freeway no problem. Many of the Northstar cars the engine is fairly easy to remove because it drops out the bottom. A big mistake people make when the work on them is not to use the proper thread insert to repair the threads for things like head bolts, even if the threads look ok they still need to be replaced. Also many people dont identify the cause of the failure, just throw a new gasket in and call it good. The engine came out in 92? and was in all Cadillacs built except Escelade and Catara starting in 96. Thats a lot of cars in the last 12 years. Is it going to cost more than a camery? Heck ya but if you are even looking at cadillacs you must be interested in some confort and style and those things dont come for free.Thinking about buying a Cadillac with the Northstar engine. Has the oil leak problem been solved. What year?
Let's put it this way. caddy's are crap. I have an 06 with the Northstar engine %26amp; at 61,000 miles the head gasket went out. Towed it to dealership %26amp; they said there was water in the oil. Told me head was cracked. Quoted me $9,000 to repair!
My advise: STAY AWAY %26amp; save yourself the heartache.
PS: I bought a used engine had it put in from my mechanic %26amp; it cost me $2500 total. I sold the car a week later.
That is still a $4000+ engine to buy, so proceed at your own risk.

I bought some water soluble oil paints...what can I use as a medium?
Also, since they are water soluable, can I mix them with acrylics?I bought some water soluble oil paints...what can I use as a medium?
No, you cannot mix these with acrylics - they are still OIL paints made with linseed oil just like traditional oils. The only difference is the linseed oil is modified to become soluble in water to make cleaning up easier.
You cannot use water as a medium - it doesn't mix properly. There are mediums made especially for use with water-miscible oils - both modified linseed oil and fast-drying mediums made by Winsor %26amp; Newton, Lukas, etc.
It's also ok to mix these with regular linseed oil or painting mediums, or turpentine or odourless solvents - but these negate the water-cleanup that makes this paint so popular.
Check out your local art supplies store, they should have what you need. Have fun with it!I bought some water soluble oil paints...what can I use as a medium?
I think I remember trying this kind of paint. I think they are just slow drying acrylic or fast drying oil! I believe you can mix acrylic ..experiment. Otherwise you can just use regular medium or ..water.
Anything your wee heart desires! And yes if the medium is water soluable it is quite likely you can intermix the mediums but whatch out for colour seperation. It may or may not occur.
No, joy know what she is talking about, the others dont.
Water miscable oils are oil + pigment and an adative is included so it reacts and breaks up in water. The advantage of using water miscable oils, is that you can clean them and not need any turps or other harsh solvents. While some artists do use water to thin the paint up a lil, its definetly not advised to do it too much or in excess , otherwise the stabaility is sacrificed.
You can use water miscable mediums, or any traditional oil mediums and products. If you use too much non water soluble mediums though, you loose the ability to clean them out with just water and will need to clean them out like any other oil paint.wrinkle eye cream

Where can I buy CHEAP essential oils?
I don't really care about quality, just something with a good scent. I'm using it to make nice smelling things. They don't have to be benificial or anything. Is there a good website to order from, or does anyone know of a chain store that would carry them. I am in and around Toronto, Ontatio, CanadaWhere can I buy CHEAP essential oils?
You can buy them from http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8%26amp;鈥?/a>Where can I buy CHEAP essential oils?
Just to clarify for you, when you go to a store asking about these things you're going to be wanting to ask about scented oils, not essential oils.
Actual essential oils are rarely really cheap, because the amount you get per plant is tiny.
Any random craft store you visit should have some oils that are scented for making things like soaps and for adding to potpourri bags and such. If you ask them to point you to the essential oils, though, there's a chance they'll point you to a section of stuff that's more expensive than what you're really wanting to get.
You can go to a Michael's craft store, I know they have them in Canada, and buy ';soap scents.'; These are just fine to use, I am putting a drop in with my wedding invitations. They are super cheap, you get a big bottle, and Michael's always has good coupons. Any craft store with soap supplies should work though... They are just the fragrances that you buy to add to homemade soaps.

Where can I buy vitamin E oils and creams???
I was wondering if at Walmart or a similar store may have vitamin E oils and creams...Where can I buy vitamin E oils and creams???
yes they do. sometimes its hard to find the oil so you might have use the gel pills and pop them open, but its the same thing.Where can I buy vitamin E oils and creams???
most commercial lotions and creams contain very little vit e as well as the other ingredients stated on the bottle. (Shea for example)
your second best source is a handmade cream that is really handmade and the seller can account for the amount of vit in it.
or your source is to go where the vitamins are and buy a bottle of vitmin E caps, and take a pin and prick the end open and squeeze the contents out and use it straight from the source.
good luck
edited to add that the body shops' products are
NOT pure and all natural. And yes they do use a lot of filler type ingredients and some that are not good for your skin. They are a mass producing company out to make money. I have done extensive research on this topic.
the best vitamen e oils and creams are at the Body shop there stuff is pure and u can trust them no artificial colours and fake creams that might be at walkmart or any place!...
sao i suggest u check that out .. or even Fruits and Passions:) there not even that expensive:)

Is it against the law if the dealership I bought my car from sold me a car with stripped oil plugs?
Preventing me from getting my oil changed? Is it against the law if the dealership I bought my car from sold me a car with stripped oil plugs?
Sounds to me like you bought from a lower-end dealer, because most will change the oil when they take in the car on trade, etc. and would have replaced the stripped plug when they saw it. They're cheap and easy to replace. So that means your dealer just threw the car out on the lot as it was when they got it. Let's hope a stripped oil pan plug is the only problem you have.
It's an easy fix; if they can back it out and the pan threads are stripped, then they can retap it and install an oversize plug. I had this happen on my Corvette at a quick oil change place...they stripped the plug but it took them only a couple of minutes to fix the problem. To answer your question- no, it's not against the law; it's just an indication of a crappy dealer who does little or no reconditioning before reselling cars to people. Is it against the law if the dealership I bought my car from sold me a car with stripped oil plugs?
No I dont think so. You need to bring your car back to the dealer and speak with the service manager and sales manager or general manager of the dealer and let them know the situation ask them if they can help you out. If you purchased a new car its under warranty if its a used car the will most likely help you out for free if its a decent dealership. But rember When you go to the dealer try and be polite you will get farther being nice and polite than if you are rude to them. Just my advice
What, the head is stripped so you can't use a wrench? It takes a shop 2 minutes to drill the old one out with the right tool, and a new plug is a couple of bucks. Don't go to a quick change place, but any full-service garage can do it. It is an easy fix, and they will have seen it before. Home mechanics are notorious for using whatever wrench they have on hand and stripping bolt heads.
Not really, they may not have even known about it.
No but you can try to get them to fix it or let them change your oil and replace the plug. Most quick lubes wont messed with dented or stripped plugss for insurace reasons or they are just lazy.
I believe that it would be against the law if it was illegal to strip the oil plugs.
They may not have known. It is easy to fix, by the way.
If you buy it from a dealership then everything should be fixed before they sell you the car, so I think you have a case against them if you wanted to go that far. Maybe you could get them to pay you for the repair.
Very few states have used car lemon laws and even then you have to ask specifically if it has a particular problem.
As for fixing it, take it to a shop and a technician can drill it out and then use a reverse tap to get the drain plug out. Then after that, you can put a new plug back it. Relatively simple repair any decent shop can do or even the homeowner with the correct tools.
Also, if you have a decent dealership, talk to them and they may offer to fix such a thing. It doesn't cost them too much money and that way they can possibly attract a repeat customer. Also, remember the employees may not have the power but you can certainly shoot a email or phone call to the dealership owner, but I would try talking to an employee first.

Should I oil my electric trimmer or buy a new one?
I've used my electric trimmer now for about 5-6 times and it's starting to cut really poorly. The hair constantly gets stuck between the blades and you have to go over the same spots over and over again. You constantly have to clean stuck hair from between the blades, which I've done but it doesn't really help much. It's a hassle.
Are the blades getting dull and need some oiling or should I just go buy a new one?
I haven't oiled the blades even once in the one year I've had it. Will oiling accomplish anything at this point or should I just go get a new one?Should I oil my electric trimmer or buy a new one?
buy a new one!!!!!!!!!!!Should I oil my electric trimmer or buy a new one?
i think you should get a new one because blades do get dull the only thing i would do is to make sure that the blades on the new one look fine
buy a new one

Why glucosamine 39 dollars, heck i bought Fish oil, does it also help bones?
There was glucosamine i wanted it but it was 39 dollars for one little bottle so i didn't. I got Fish oil. Does this help bones at all like glucosamine does ?Why glucosamine 39 dollars, heck i bought Fish oil, does it also help bones?
If you are interested in alternative medicines, glucosamine is taken (generally) for Osteoarthritis. Fish Oil is for cardiac health.
There have not been enough studies done that would convince me to spend $39.00 on a supplement which is not well regulated. On the other hand, omega 3 oils found in fish oil are widely accepted for nutritional benefits to the cardiovascular system.
So, on the bright side, even if your knees don't get better, you may be at a lessor risk for arteriosclerosis if you take the pills as directed.
Good luck. Why glucosamine 39 dollars, heck i bought Fish oil, does it also help bones?
Hmm, ive found good prices here:
http://www.doctorstrust.com/find/glucosamine.html
I will tell you guys the results soon! Report Abuse
If I had a healing crisis, and I had the money, I have some glucosamine but it is too expensive to take as a a daily supplement.
Also switch to sea salt instead of tablesalt.
Drink lots of distilled water. 6-8 glasses each day. Add 10-15 grains of brown rice to 1 gallon glass containers of distilled water. This will give your bones minerals it needs.
MSM is a less expensive sulfate for pain management and bone growth.
Take a calcium supplement. Inexpensive but helpful for bone health..
Fish oil is a good thing keep it up.
Also try adding a tablespoon or raw apple cider vinegar with a dash of cinnamon to carrot juice, other veggie juice or strong fruit juice three times a day.wrinkle eye cream

More oil available than buyers to buy it?
Why is the President talking about things like ANWR (which he could have very well have done had there been serious interest in the previous 6 years) when there is more oil than buyers?More oil available than buyers to buy it?
The falling value of the US dollar on the world market is the biggest culprit at this point. Especially since oil is traded in dollars.
Every time the Fed cuts the interest rate and pumps more money into the economy, the price of oil increases.
The value of the US dollar is down 35% since 2002. If the dollar was worth the same now as 2002, the price of oil would be around $96 per barrel.
Refining capacity is the biggest non-starter of the issue, be careful listening to the chicken littles about refining capacity. If oil companies wanted more refineries (which would result in a glut of gasoline and diesel on the market and lower the price) they would build them, regardless of 'tree huggers' wishes.More oil available than buyers to buy it?
Speculation and terra...terra....terra.
I can recall during the Iranian oil embargo many years ago. There were lines of cars waiting to gas up, and there were oil tankers lined up off shore waiting to off load product just over the horizon. But then I am a little older than most here.
Global financial jihad. Someone is funding speculation to raise oil prices. The intent is pressure the current US government into easing actions against the Saudi government. And to influence the election in November. Only oil producers have enough cash to play this game.
If we get rid of the tree hugging liberals that are tying the hands of the President as well as the communistic democratic ruled Senate and Congress then we would not have the gas problem.
No refineries built in the US since 1976 is a major reason we have the prices we have today.
Careful friend, you are wandering very close to the truth here.
Right now the price of oil is not driven by demand for oil per se, but by speculators who are bidding up contracts to buy oil because they think the price will keep rising. In other words, the traders don't want the oil, but they expect to make money by re-selling those contracts when the price keeps going up. As soon as they run out of buyers, the bubble will burst, and the price will fall. The same thing happened in the stock market a few years back, the same thing happened in the housing market, and the commodities market is next.
I don't think it's because he wants to destroy the environment of a nature preserve for the sake of destroying it.
Any increase in supply is going to bring down prices - eventually. It's beginning to look like the speculation on oil may be crossing the line between a 'fear premium' and a commodity 'bubble.' If that happens, we can expect the price to crash at some point in the future.
If oil companies invest in developing new, expensive to opperate wells, then the price crashes, they'd lose bushels of money.
People don`t understand that corporations are not human and do not have feeling and their morals are to profit and shareholders. If we use less oil then profit is lost, so you have mad shareholders so you have to raise the price to make up for the profit loss. One one reason that I disagree with you is that we just might run out of usable oil because we have moved out jobs over seas and that makes those countries economy raise faster then they would have so the world demand rises faster then it would have so we pay more so all those savings in the stores because we found cheaper labor is put in the tank. I think that the people are so dependent on oil that we should make oil part of the commons and we will just pay the oil companies to get it out of the ground for us.
The Dems would not let Bush drill for oil in Alaska, so blame them. There is not a surplus of oil; that is ridiculous. The price of oil will remain over a $100/barrel unless a worldwide recession occurs. get used to paying over $3.00/gallon for gas. Demand for oil will continue to increase as world population is increasing and people in China and India are demanding more cars and appliances.
Yes, there is speculation in the oil market, but that will probably continue, and if it ends, the price of oil will still be over $100/barrel.
When the president speaks of ANWR he's blowing smoke resulting in the usual misdirection clowns and the uninformed want to hear and believe. Anything to worm out of actually paying down the deficit and increasing the value of the dollar.
Too bad all those Patriotic Americans that were hot for 2 wars and the associated toys are slow or downright reluctant to pay for them. Now we all suffer in the way of high cost for fuel, imported clothes, food and interest.
If you think about it that may as well be a tax but it's going to Exxon, Mobil and China instead of the IRS. Exxon's CEO did get a $30 million bonus. Now that's one helluva social program and it only benefited one guy.
because Big Oil realizes that their monopoly will soon be obsolete.
As soon as 2021 when the new genertaion of nuclear reactors are perfected, that produces electrical power and hydrogen fuel, at the same time, methanol will be no more.
So they have to drain every drop out of every place they can and make as much money as they can to monoplize the nuclear power industry or their power switches hands.
So what better way than make the people support your retaining control of their energy and fuel sources?
http://world-nuclear.org/info/inf41.html鈥?/a>
That is why the Rockefellars are also demanding Exxon to start working toward alternative fuels.
I will not say that we have an endless supply, But we have an adequate amount to last us for the rest of the time we have left on this earth.(no predictions only fact) The biggest problem we have with todays market price is that people refuse to cut back they continue to go like there is no tomorrow. They continue to pay what ever the price is and the oil producing nations see that regardless of price we refuse to cut back and will pay the price whatever it is. When we finally reach a point where the price is to steep to go on then and only then will prices level out. probably around 10.00 per gal. People will be homeless by the tens of thousands.Their credit cards maxed out. Their autos repossesed. Their ability to go to work ends.Crime will be out of sight. No one will be safe leaving their homes. The government will have to declare martial law. Many people will have already starved to death. SOUND ROUGH DON'T IT. This is a real possibility for our future. They don't have to destroy us they can sit back and let us destroy ourselves But we as Americans will fight it all the way to our graves. Think about it!
There has never been an oil shortage. The oil shortage is and has been manipulated from the get go. The bad guys who own big oil, I could easily name them their last names begin with ';R'; are behind the increase in oil prices just as they manipulated oil prices up in 1973 and 1978. It is the way they steal the world economy. The amout of oil they will sell on the commodity exchanges futures markets as the price goes up will boggly the mind. After manipulating oil prices up in 1973 and 1978 where did oil prices go when the oil spicket was turned back on, under $10 per barrel. Oil will go down again but not before massive damage is done to our pocket books before then. Dick Cheney chaired a Commission of Oil and basically priced fixed oil prices. There is no real competition in the oil business, ever wonder why gasoline prices are the same in Alabama as a turnpike in NJ, because the same guys own the oil. Note Saudi Arabia and Iran are being blamed for not increasing production. The same bad mouthing of Arabs and Persians as took place in 1973 and 1978 to justify bombing which will send oil to my target of $250 per barrel. We get the falling dollar argument for oil prices increasing which does not make sense because the oil was taken off the market and prices started rising before the dollar crashed. The bad guys had good luck stealing by manipulating inflation in the 1920s in Germany and it has been their favorite way to steal ever since. The other way to solve the economic turmoil is price deflation and that hurts the bad guys so don't count on it. Oil is just the start of the financial havoc. Thanks to Harry Reid and ethanol corn and grocery store prices are going through the roof. A Paul Volcker will come on the scene and interest rates will go through the roof. All this consolidates banking, mortages, and every other aspect of business and makes the bad guys sole owner of everything worth owning. These same bad guys own the media and are making Obama. Their script writers for the world will include Sunni al-Queda invading Iran and then Caspian Sea and on to Russia and martial law for the USA. Not fun. They always play one ethnic group against another. So we can expect Obama followers fighting others with Blackhawk and John Negroponte swat teams killing people on both sides to get the hate raging. The ethnic warfare going on in Iraq will go on in the states, as they make the USA a third world type communi$t police state.

What oil color paints should I buy (good quality)?
Hi, I'd like to buy the following colors:
* Red
* Yellow
* Blue
* Black
* White
Problem is there's so many variations... Price is not an issue for me, I just want the best quality oil paints (e.g. ones that are most vibrant, mix well, and last long).
I'm not interested in buying a color for their rarity, only quality! What oil color paints should I buy (good quality)?
Your palette will depend on your subject matter, with landscape often using different forms of color than portraits for instance.
You have not listed specific pigment names, but if I were setting up an oil painting palette it would likely include:
Cadmium Yellow Light
Yellow Ochre
Cadmium Red Light
Venetian Red
Cadmium Orange
Burnt Sienna
Burnt Umber
Alizarin Crimson
Chromium Oxide Green
Viridian
Cerulean Blue
Ultramarine Blue
Ivory Black
These were recommended by a local portrait artist who has done portraits of governors and statesmen. I would add a good Titanium white.
As far as brands go, that becomes entirely personal to each artist. The artist I mentioned above swears by Holbein, made in Oregon. However, many of my other friends use Daniel Smith, made right here in Seattle. Each has its own strengths, and be mindful that the colors can vary slightly from company to company.
Oh. . . .and have fun. I may be right behind you. I miss painting in oils.. . . and acrylics are just not the same feel! What oil color paints should I buy (good quality)?
I would say that Old Holland or Michael Harding are the best, But that really is if price isn't an issue. One of the great things about these paints is; the colour label on each tube features the actual paint from the batch that is inside the tube, so you know exactly what you are going to get.
I feel that the Michael Harding Colours are extraordinarily good.

Looking at buying 1991 lincoln Town car but they say it needs a oil pump?
anyone know what's involved in changing the oil pump on a 1991 Lincoln towncar with 4.6LLooking at buying 1991 lincoln Town car but they say it needs a oil pump?
On a '91 Town Car equipped with the 4.6L SOHC V8, the oil pump is driven directly by the crankshaft. On this particular engine, you will need to remove both valve covers, the timing chain cover, BOTH timing chains and their respective guides in order to gain access to the oil pump. Although it may be necessary to loosen the front bolts on the oil pan, it may not be necessary to remove it altogether. This necessary to gain access to the two bolts that secure the oil pickup to the pump. But just the above mentioned steps are going to be a labour intensive task in itself that involves retiming the engine when reassembling it. The main question is WHY it needs an oil pump. If the engine has been operating with prolonged low oil pressure, it is quite likely all the bearings would have significant wear, which would mandate a complete rebuild. The question you need to ask yourself is if it's worth it for a 17 year old vehicle. Hope this helps.Looking at buying 1991 lincoln Town car but they say it needs a oil pump?
The oil pump is located inside the oil pan. You will need to remove the oil pan to get to it. This might be hard if there is anything in the way of the oil pan. Im not sure about a towncar, but on a lot of bigger cars like that, it is pretty easy to do if you just jack up the front and pull the oil pan off. If you cant get to the oil pan, you will probobly have to pull the engine out to get to it.
You have to be careful. If the car was driven even a little bit with a bad oil pump, the engine could be bad. Without an oil pump, your piston rings and engine bearings could be bad. That means a total rebuild. If not, an oil pump is not that bad to change. It will take a couple of hours and about $150 to fix. It is up under the oil pan. you have to drop the oil pan to change it. make sure you have a new oil pan gasket, high temp sealant, new oil filter (because you should change it) and five quarts of oil. Five quarts is normal for most motors. Good luck!
do you know were it is LOL
probably just the screen it needs, oil pump is not in the oil pan

I bought castor oil. Im 20% efaced and 1 cen. dialeted. How much of this should I drink to go into labor?
So I found out that I am 20% efaced and 1 cen. dialated. I've been having what I believe are braxton hicks contractions for the past week. I would love to induce myself before the doctors do it with medicine. So I would love any advice to I can to help the process out.I bought castor oil. Im 20% efaced and 1 cen. dialeted. How much of this should I drink to go into labor?
Castor oil is a very bad idea, it can hurt the baby. Plus, it wont put you in labor, it will just stress out your body and your baby. I had great sucses with Italian induction, it put me in labor imediatly. You eat spicy food, have one alcholic drink of your choice, walk like a madman, get a massage, and have unproteced sex with good orgasms. Nipple stimulation or using a breast pump also can work. These are safe, effective and fun ways to start your labor, and they wont give you terrible cramps and shits and stress out your baby. Just remember, it will only work if your baby is ready to be born, so you might have to keep it up for a while.I bought castor oil. Im 20% efaced and 1 cen. dialeted. ugh...... I would not suggest it....
I tried it 3 times!!!! none of the times did it work, and finally he came... 2 weeks late... you could ask your doc to strip you membranes...
I would not recommend castor oil... even though, I asked questions on here about it and was told not to... and I did it anyway (lol)
It is DISGUSTING (almost made me throw up when I drank it.. it sticks in your mouth so there is no way to NOT taste it..) and it really does give you some BAD diarrhea.... ughhhh... I am feeling sick now just thinking about it... :(
EDIT: I just wanted to add that SEX does help! the night my son came, we had sex at about 11 pm, my contractions started around 11:30... SERIOUSLY...
Well when i was preg with my son i took 2 tablespoons and put it in with a shot of oj you dont want too much oj. My son didnt have any problems bec it doesnt go into ur blood stream to affect the baby. You on the other hand will have some bowel movements trust me but thats okay bec you will need all of that released anyways.. But i was having contractions in like 6 hrs. It will give u false labor contractions and they will give u pitocin to speed up the process
You shouldn't. Ask your doctor if there's anything else you can do, but this isn't one of those things.
I have a ten week old. I really would recommend that you don't have the castor oil!! The reason being that my friend did everything she could to kick-start labour and it took her 3 days of being in pain (labour pain) until she gave birth! I would suggest getting as much rest as you can hun! it might be a long haul, but naturally is best! sorry to be crude (you might not feel like it) but sex (semen is the same hormone thay use to be induced) i think is the best thing! I had my baby the day after! as long as your water has not not broken! Best of luck! I don't know what the hospitals r like in america (if thats where u are) but i had to have most of my labour in the wating room in England, as they are so short on midwifes!! Also keeping active really helps! Do the cleaning or take dog out for walk! jst not too far away from home, make sure you have your phone handy too xx
caster oil is not a good idea it just makes you have the runs really bad and can be harmful to the baby..
none it doesnt work and might make you sick
i wouldn't take it, they don't always use medicine. with my kids they broke my water then the baby came 5 min later.
It's an old wives' tale, don't drink it. Try walking, having sex or straddling one of those big exercise balls. Not much else you can do, baby will come when baby decides to come.
I would suggest that you rethink this if your intentions is to plan to use it to try and induce labor...
Too many complications can occur including:
Fetal Distress
Severe Dehydration for you
Severe Stomach Cramps...NOT Contractions
Passing of Meconium, they swallow very very sick baby!
And unless your body is showing any signs of wanting to start labor...and 20% effaced and only 1 cm is def. not, its only going to make you and possibly the baby very very sick!
PLEASE RECONSIDER THIS OPTION!
I think the standard is 2 tbsp mixed with orange juice.. read the bottle to make sure! Just be cautious when you take it, it doesn't always work, and can cause some uncomfortable side effects... go into it prepared! Good luck!
Oh sweetheart, I know you are anxious to deliver, but please do not use castor oil, you will seriously regret it. You'll be in so much pain due to to the diarrhea and vomiting that you could potentially distress the baby.
Walk up and down stairs if you are too anxious. It'll give you something to do and will help induce labor in a much safer way.
Good Luck
Like the girl said above , it is an old wise tale . Trust me don't do it. The only thing you can do is keep your self entertained by other things. I have tried the walking , the sex , all of it ... It's okay to be induced , I have been with my 4 girls , they are perfactly fine , they are smart as can be, and they have no problems at all.
seriously....don't so it!! unless you want to sit on the toilet all day with severe diahreah and cause your baby to possible have a bowel movement in you as weel then DON'T!!! IT DOES NOT WORK!!! all it does is cause pain and could hurt your baby!!!wrinkle eye cream

Bought a small cage to take my birds to the beach, is it wise to spray a tea tree oil solution on them?
They had a small tick problem last year, I had to dump my old couch. I think that problem was from hitchhiker parasites catching a ride on me after wilderness treks with the family dog. Is 1to 100, tea tree oil to water safe? Tea tree oil soap helps my skin, will it hurt my birds?Bought a small cage to take my birds to the beach, is it wise to spray a tea tree oil solution on them?
Tea tree oil is DEADLY to birds. Please don't.
Birds had a tick problem last year??? This is something you need to control in %26amp; around your home firstly before giving your birds anything at all. If it was from a hitchhyker you shouldn't have continuing tick problems at all. If you do look around your yard please.
Don't use anything for your bird at all %26amp; def not tea tree oil, it is not safe for birds. Taking your birds to the beach shouldn't attract ticks.Bought a small cage to take my birds to the beach, is it wise to spray a tea tree oil solution on them?
huh?
leave your birds home where they can be safe. EWWWW about your couch.
no
I would be very careful about the oil. Call your vet for safe suggestions.
Birds do not get ticks or fleas. Ever.
Tea tree oil will kill them.
Leave them home and leave them alone. NO OIL in any amount. Please.
Get something thats meant for birds. Almost any type of spray can kill your bird.

Bought a 2007 Altima, it's ready for it's first oil change and was wondering if I can switch to synthetic?
Is there break in oil or some special oil put in by the factory to help break in during the first few thousand miles? Should I do my 1st change with regular oil and then switch to synthetic on my 6000 mi change?Bought a 2007 Altima, it's ready for it's first oil change and was wondering if I can switch to synthetic?
You can switch to synthetic oil but once you switch you shouldnt go back to regular oil. So be prepared to pay around $40.00 for an oil change from now on!
Despite the number of benefits over mined oil (the stuff they pump out of the ground), Americans still haven't fully embraced this advanced technology.
Synthetic oil is produced in a lab, which means the only stuff in it is what they put in it. Despite the high-tech refining of crude oil, there are still contaminants in the oil that can build up and eventually damage an engine. Changing your oil and filter removes any loose particles that form, but often the build-up occurs in an isolated area of your engine, usually where it gets really, really hot. This build up can clog oil passages and valves, which can eventually lead to reduced engine life.
There are also ecological benefits to using synthetic oil. Its viscosity stays higher than mined oil at high temperatures, enough to even affect your gas mileage. Since it breaks down much more slowly than petroleum-based oil, you can greatly extend the time between oil changes.Bought a 2007 Altima, it's ready for it's first oil change and was wondering if I can switch to synthetic?
But you CAN switch back to regular oil after you've used synthetic. They can also be mixed, that is what a synthetic blend is. very informative link, 10 Myths about Synthetic Oil: http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=1463115%26amp;page=articlespr/articlemyths Report Abuse
Unless the owner's manual says not to, it will be fine. I did it with my Envoy and it is an 04 and no problems yet. 85000 miles later
1st off, without proper diagnostics you cannot get a proper repair...with that being said...
you can switch from conventional oil to full synthetic to a synthetic blend at any given time and it will not harm your car although most people will tell you that you want to keep your oil the same throughout the life of your car, it isn't true.
Different grades of oil, synthetic, synthetic blend, high mileage, etc., have different additives, chemicals, or engineering that will all do the same thing, lubricate your engine parts. It's just a matter of how much you want to spend and how often you keep your oil changed.
Good luck and hope this helps
No problem at all. Synthetic oils don麓t get burned or diluted like mineral oils do.
Most likely if u add synthetic oil, you wont have to change oil again, just keep adding whenever the level is low

I bought Arnold 2-cycle oil 32:1 but need 50:1.Can't I just mix it 50:1 or is it special oil I should exchange
It's for a Ryobi gas trimmer.I bought Arnold 2-cycle oil 32:1 but need 50:1.Can't I just mix it 50:1 or is it special oil I should exchange
If it's a bottle that is pre measured for one gallon of gas just add more gas. 50/32 = 1.562 gallons of gas. This will give you the required 50:1 mix you need.I bought Arnold 2-cycle oil 32:1 but need 50:1.Can't I just mix it 50:1 or is it special oil I should exchange
What I normally do is go to the petrol station and fill a spare can with exactly 1ltr of unleaded fuel, (which I mark on the can ';50 to 1'; so I don't get it mixed up with the other can of unleaded for the mower.)
Then on the side of the 2 stroke oil bottle there are measurements in 50ml sections. Mix 50ml per 1ltr of fuel, and bob's your uncle 50 to 1 mix. hope this helps, it works for me fine.
Get the right oil return the other why bother doing the math.
go 50:1, with a ryobi, I have more of those in my bone pile than any other brand...most people in the industry won't tell you..but, if you treat it like a Stihl?..then you won't have a lot of problems...otherwise, you will only get a season out of it, and that is if you are lucky...sorry, but Ryobi?..We call them throw aways,...why they are cheap....
For 32:1 mix the container of oil with one gallon of gasoline. For 50:1 , mix same omount of oil with .8 gallons of gas. . Sometimes this formula is on the container of oil. This is where I got it from.

Is it dangerous to use Tanning Oil if your really pale, like white pale? I bought bananna boat tanning oil?
Im going on holiday on saturday to tenerife and want a good tan, thought it might help but my mum says it will sizzle me as i normally burn. I have the SPF protective banna boat sunning oilIs it dangerous to use Tanning Oil if your really pale, like white pale? I bought bananna boat tanning oil?
I use spray on tans there so great! And they dont fry your skin like taning in the sun will do=)Is it dangerous to use Tanning Oil if your really pale, like white pale? I bought bananna boat tanning oil?
Tanning oil conducts sunlight. Even with an SPF, I definitely wouldn't recommend using it if you're very pale.
I'm extremely pale and I never go to the beach with anything less than a sunscreen with an SPF of 15.
The best way to get a good tan is gradually. If you're very pale and normally burn, you will never get a good tan in just one day. Try going to a tanning salon and getting a good base tan. Once you have a good base color, then use the oil so long as you keep reapplying.
If you're really concerned about how you'll look over the weekend, spray tans are wonderful! They give you instant color and can last up to two weeks!

Is CNOOC Ltd. (CEO) the best oil company in China? ... Is their stock a long term buy?
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=ceoIs CNOOC Ltd. (CEO) the best oil company in China? ... Is their stock a long term buy?
I think CEO is a great buy. Here are my favorite stocks from China:

Near term, we might see more selling in the Chinese markets, but long term, China is a great place to invest.
I own these smaller Chinese stocks:

good luck!!Is CNOOC Ltd. (CEO) the best oil company in China? ... Is their stock a long term buy?
Asking something like that is the same as me asking is 13 24 57 64 11 the lotto numbers for tomorrow? It's a gamble no matter how you slice it. All I can say is be sure you are diversified enough so that if one industry doesn't do so hot, you aren't losing all of your investment.
If you mean like the Warren Buffet definition of long term, buy and hold forever, I would say yes. In the short term I think oil is going down to atleast 70
nothing in china is a good buy right now. they overheated their economy and it is going to take a while for things to cool off. their market increased nearly 6,000% in 2 years, I don't know of any business that can grow production that fast (therefore the market is overvalued). when things do cool off I would go with PetroChina over CEO. in about 3 years I would call CEO a decent-good long term investment.wrinkle eye cream

I bought powder to make hummus from HEB. I need specific instructions. It said something about oil and hot wat?
It said something about oil and hot water. It should be really simple. But I'm brand new, and I need specific instructions so I don't screw up. Anybody know?I bought powder to make hummus from HEB. I need specific instructions. It said something about oil and hot wat?
No directions? No problem. Add enough water until it becomes a smooth, thick consistency of say guacamole. Don't add too much water, just enough to make it a thick paste. At that point, add some olive oil until you like the consistency.
I also like to add garlic powder and lemon if you have them. And I also liked diced tomatoes in my hummus,
Next time you are in a Middle Eastern market, pick up some sumac or something called extra sumac to sprinkle on top. It's red in color and has a lemon flavor.I bought powder to make hummus from HEB. I need specific instructions. It said something about oil and hot wat?
The package should have the exact directions you need. Otherwise it's anyone's guess how much water and olive oil to add. I always make mine from scratch with real chickpeas, olive oil, tahini, garlic, lemon, cumin...

Is it true that buy the way bush has thing running, we will not have any oil by the year 2012?
Bush is a frickin moron, so chances are it's true. Just like his old man... cant tell his head from his ***.Is it true that buy the way bush has thing running, we will not have any oil by the year 2012?
umm the president no matter who it is has no bearing on how much oil we use. and how long oil will last depends on how much is still in the ground. Is it true that buy the way bush has thing running, we will not have any oil by the year 2012?
I don't buy anything Bush has to say
IT COULD BE
1. We don't produce much of the oil.
2. Other countries such as China and India are starting to be huge consumers of oil
3. Other technologies will become acceptable once oil prices get high enough. (Shale oil has finally become worth producing in Canada)
4. Our country already uses 25% less oil to generate $1 of GNP compared to 20 years ago. (we've become much more efficient and less reliant on oil to make our economy grow)
5. There is plenty of oil in the ground --- it will just cost more to produce since that oil is harder to get out of the ground than the oil we currently get.
6. Once oil is expensive enough, liberals will allow us to drill in Alaska, use more coal, and build more nuclear plants.
7. Our country does not use that much more oil than it did under Clinton.
8. Countries such as Mexico have enough oil that they can pump for 50 years at current rates. Mexico is in no hurry to pump that oil out of the ground.
9. Bush will only be president for a few more years. So, there is plenty of time for other presidents to either help or screw things up.
no
Definitely not true. He may not be the most likeable guy, but he doesn't have that much power. If we were 6 years from running out of oil, you'd see a ton of alternative fuels on the market already, probably marketed by the oil giants.
A buddy was telling me about a book that was recently published that points to new research that indicates the world may have a virtually unlimited supply of oil -- we're simply not drilling deep enough. Today, we look for oil about 2-3 miles down. This research suggests you can find oil virtually anywhere at depths of about 10 miles. Supposedly, that's where the oil originates and only gets up to the 2-3 mile range through cracks in the earth's crust. I'll try to find a link to the book and update this post.
i think we all dont think are oil will last a long time the cost just keeps going up thats all .are goverment some times wont tell us the truth and that is wrong on if there will be enough oil.
Bush won't still be president in 2012.
But, at the rate of consumption, it won't be too long before we deplete the oil reserves. This isn't something that will happen in your children's lifetime- it will happen in yours. You'll live long enough to see a world without gas.
The Lord told me we'll have oil forever, so don't you worry lil' missy--STAY THE COURSE!!!!
all of this talk of war with oil rich nations makes you wonder.
No. Oil consumption has very little to do with who is the President of the United States, and there is more than enough oil reserves in the world to last us well past 2012.
No, the places we drill now we dont get all of the oil out - only what is on top. We leave alot in the ground because it is too expensive to get it at certain depths. We are also finding places to drill all the time.
