Why don't we buy a bunch of oil for the national oil reserve now that gas is cheap?

Or are we going to wait till its 120 a barrel and then talk about increasing our reserves? Why don't we buy a bunch of oil for the national oil reserve now that gas is cheap?
We probably are. These types of sales are done on the QT. We wouldn't want the world to know demand for the comodity is up, would we?Why don't we buy a bunch of oil for the national oil reserve now that gas is cheap?
Good idea.

Not only that, it's time to buy the Christmas booze. I note that my local supermarket have lots of cut price wines and such.

I've got three bottles of fizzy American wine thus far.

Anyway, on Christmas morning me and the wife break open a bottle of Champaigne and pour that down our throats. After the and by lunch time the entire day is just a blur.

Seeing Christmas with double vision is like having it twice in the same day.

The people of London are already spending their money buying up everything in sight for the coming Christmas and New Year holiday. It looks like being a big spend.

I recommend Americans do the same thing.

Like my mother once said, ';during the war we grabbed what we could, because you just never knew if you would be alive next day';.

Same with the credit crunch. Let's just enjoy today and worry about tomorrow when it comes.

Good luck

A Londoner UK
Gas companies would still charge the current market on the cheaper oil they already purchased, thus giving them more of a profit. Even if the government bought a crap load they would do the same thing, leaving us still paying the higher price.
because buying oil from abroad will still make us pay the saudis money that end up in the hands of terrorists. so it's still better if we drill our oil and send all that money to american hands.
Because doing so would mean that you're increasing demand for it, and then the price would go up.
