Could Oil companies run bankrupt if people wouldn't buy gas for 1-2 days?

That's what I heard from my friend, who works at UN office in New York. Thus, they will be compelled to reduce gas prices.Could Oil companies run bankrupt if people wouldn't buy gas for 1-2 days?
Nope.

The price of gasoline, is dependent on the price of oil.

The oil companies do not control the price of oil.

Countries like Nigeria, Venezeula, mexico, Canada, Saudi control the price of oil.

The oil companies, have to buy oil from them to refine into gasoline.Could Oil companies run bankrupt if people wouldn't buy gas for 1-2 days?
Not hardly. Especially since they have been making record profits for months now if not the last few years.
well your friend doesn't know much does he? the oil companies just don't sell gasoline. they make plastic products medical products pharmacutical products jet fuel grease ships that haul oil other than there own. so ask your self if you could bankrupt a company that is so diverified?
